About the
Certified Sustainable
Standards Board
The Certified Sustainable Standards Board was established by Certified Sustainable in 2022 with its Secretariat administered by Deakin University’s Centre for Regional and Rural Futures.
Certified Sustainable was founded in 2014 by a group of passionate farmers who set out to rebuild soil health and improve the natural environment and ecosystem. Building on extensive experience in the agricultural sector, the standard can now be applied to other industries including processing, finance and retail.
Client outcomes are measured against internationally recognised Environment Society and Governance (ESG) markers and sustainability goals, enabling organisations to directly link their actions and outcomes to ESG reporting requirements.
The Certified Sustainable Standards Board (CSSB) is responsible for making recommendations to Certified Sustainable on changes to the Certified Sustainable Standard and any matters related to the review of that Standard. It will review any applications to amend the Standard and make recommendations to Certified Sustainable for decision.
